Management of the glycemic response

Decreasing the magnitude of elevated blood glucose concentrations after consuming carbohydrate-rich food is a critical target in the production of low glycemic index (GI) foods. It is well established that the management of postprandial glycemic responses is beneficial to human health, particularly for people with impaired glucose tolerance, which is common among the general population. Enriching foods with BBG® delays the rate of absorption of glucose in the small intestine and therefore decreases postprandial glycemic responses.
